Lavender Rose Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
For the Cookies:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons Flower Power
Instructions:
Make the Lavender Rose Sugar Cookies:
In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft cookie dough forms.
Divide the dough into two portions and shape each into a log. Wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours or until firm.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Slice the cookie dough logs into rounds about 1/4-inch thick.
Place the coated cookies on the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each cookie.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Make the Vanilla Icing:
In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. If the icing is too thick, add a little more milk, a teaspoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. If it's too thin, add more powdered sugar.
Once your sugar cookies are completely cooled, spoon or drizzle the vanilla icing over the cookies. Sprinkle the Flower Power over the icing.
Enjoy your delightful Lavender Rose Sugar Cookies with a cup of tea or coffee!
